Obituary of James Barrett Sullivan, Jr.

James Barrett "Barry" Sullivan, Jr., age 79, of 872 Englewood Avenue, Town of Tonawanda, NY, died Sunday, August 17 at the VA Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He was born March 10, 1935, in Jamestown, NY and spent most of his life in the Town of Tonawanda. Following his U.S. Army service, he returned to the University of Buffalo, graduating in 1960 as a history/government major. Several years were spent as a retail manager at Higbee's Department Store in Cleveland, Ohio, in the fidelity and surety department of Travelers Insurance in Buffalo, NY, and at Bell Aerosystems, Niagara Falls, NY. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Crocker of Jamestown, NY. He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille Fredsall Sullivan, his father James B. Sullivan, Sr., and his grandparents Hiram and Mattie Sullivan of Westfield, NY and Nellie Otelia Fredsall of Jamestown. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 28th, in the Bellinger Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 509 Prendergast Avenue, Jamestown. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, NY 14701; or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701. Burial will be at Westfield Cemetery.
