Obituary of Cherry L. Potter

Cherry L. Potter, 66, of 5293 Kortwright Rd., Ashville, died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday (August 26, 2014) in WCA Hospital. She was the wife of Sherwood F. Potter, whom she married May 20, 1967. Cherry was born in Jamestown on March 24, 1948, a daughter of the late Frederick and Betty Sandstrom Sweeney. She was a member of the Siloam Fellowship, Harmony Senior Citizens and enjoyed her Ladies Bible Study group. Cherry also enjoyed crafting, reading and Christian music and loved time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Sherwood, surviving is a daughter, Melissa (Andrew) Campbell of Clymer; three grandchildren, McKenna, Avery and Bennett Campbell of Clymer; a sister, Roxanne (Jim) Cady of Niobe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 2001 and mother in 2013. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor David Bush of the Siloam Fellowship will officiate. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery in Niobe. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Panama Fire Department, 27 E.
