Obituary of Cheryl L. Calavitta

Cheryl L. "Cherie" Calavitta, 66, of 238 Sprague St., Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. She was born October 12, 1947 in Warren, PA, a daughter of the late Walter H. and Helen Wescott Dahler. A 1965 graduate of Warren High School, Cherie had been employed as a customer service representative by Period Brass from 1977 to 2001, and as a customer service representative and sales assistant by Time Warner Cable from 2001 to 2012. She is survived by her longtime companion, Lyle "Cy" Damon; a sister, Beverly Billard of Dunnville, Ontario; a son, Christopher (Hillary) Calavitta of Austin, TX and daughter, Angelique Heckman of London, Ontario; and two granddaughters, Sofia Calavitta and Erica Wardrop, whom she loved and adored. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated next month on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy will be celebrant. Following the service October 10th, a Celebration of Life memorial reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Moon Brook Country Club.
