Obituary of Dan A. Turney

Dan A. Turney, 60, of 310 Colfax Street Jamestown, passed away Friday September 12, 2014 in his home surrounded by his family following a battle with cancer. He was born January 28, 1954 in Salamanca, NY the son of Theresa Zbink Turney Luce and the late Dan A. Turney. For 41 years, Dan was employed at Producto Machine Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Surviving besides his mother of Randolph are his wife, Donna Carlson Nelson Turney; five children, Danelle Turney of Jamestown; Meredith (Jeff) Callahan of Kennedy; Ryan (Sarah) Turney of Randolph; Adam Turney and Brent Nelson both of Jamestown; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Randy (Carol) Luce and Rick (Tracey) Luce, both of Randolph; two sisters, Cathy (Mike) Linkous of Kennedy; and Tammy (Mark) Thompson of Texas. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Turney. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, Hospice chaplain will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
