Obituary of Lulu E. Stephenson

Lulu E. "Lou" Stephenson, formerly of 9 Logan Ave., passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation at the age of 100. She was the widow of Clarence A. Stephenson whom she married May 15, 1943 in Russell, PA and who died February 7, 1974. Lulu was born July 1, 1914 in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Goetz Eller. A Jamestown area resident most of her life, she had been employed as a clerk by the former Bigelow's Department Store for 28 years, retiring in 1968. She was a member of Zion Covenant Church, Busti-Lakewood Retirees, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Chautauqua County Humane Society. She has no known survivors. A graveside committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer. The Rev. Rick Miller, pastor of Zion Covenant Church, will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Zion Covenant Church, 520 Fairmount Ave.; or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, both in Jamestown, NY 14701.
