Obituary of Charlotte E. Horsley

Charlotte Erikzon Horsley, 69, formerly of 194 Yolande Avenue, West Ellicott, died Thursday September 25, 2014, in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A native of Norrkoping, Sweden, she was born November 11, 1944, a daughter of the late Karl and Gunhild Andersson Paulsen. Coming to the United States in 1947 she was educated in the Jamestown School System and went on to become a licensed beautician. She owned and operated the Hair Cellar for many years. She was confirmed at Zion Covenant Church. She was a long time member of Thule Lodge and its Swedish Folk Dancers. She loved gardening and golfing. Most of all she enjoyed sharing her Swedish heritage with family and friends through cooking and celebrating holidays in traditional style. Surviving are two children Mark Erikzon of Charlotte, NC and Birgitta (Christopher) Barmore of Gerry; six grandchildren Dalton, Collin and Sophia Barmore and Kendall, Amanda and Lauren Erikzon; a sister Marianne (James) Mattoon of Jamestown; niece Kristina Benson and nephew Erik Mattoon. In keeping with Charlotte's wishes a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
