Obituary of Ann M. Cady
Ann Marie Cady, 94, formerly of 469 Front St. Jamestown, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident, she was born October 5, 1919 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Gaetano and Anna Portale Ciancio.
In earlier years, she was employed with her family as a waitress for the former Driftwood Restaurant and Ironstone Restaurant for over 40 years.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved being with her family and friends. She had an unconditional love for people and always put others first. Her family will remember her for her unending devotion to her husband during his illness of ten years and also for her generosity, as she knit many slippers, mittens and afghan's for her family.
Her family was present the day she began to pass away as they celebrated what would have been her and Norms 75th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are her children, Daisy Russell, Norman (Wanda) Cady, Michael (Linda) Cady all of Jamestown, eight grandchildren, Debbie Micek of Bemus Point, Adam Cady, Christy (Dave) Micek, Maggie Cady, Michael (Nicole) Cady, Amanda Lundberg, Heidi Maloney all of Jamestown, Susan (Troy) Ingersoll of Lakewood, and her great grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua, Trevor, Jed, Amber,and Zach Micek, Caleb Rowan, Luke and Kyle Ingersoll, Brianna and Abbigail Cady, Abbigail and Morgan Maloney, Jack and Chase Lundberg.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Norman N. Cady whom she married September 26, 1939 and who died February 4, 2011, a sister Concetta "Connie" Triscari, a brother, Thomas P. Ciancio, her son in law, Sam Russell and a nephew Thomas Ciancio.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Janaczek, pastor of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
