Obituary of Stephen M. Ryan

Stephen M. Ryan, 62, of Ashville NY, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3, 2014. He was born on September 26, 1952, in Waverly, NY, a son of the late Glenn Sr. and Phyllis Fuller Ryan. He was a graduate of Southwestern Central School, Jamestown Business College, Empire College and International School of Ministry. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Rascal Scooters as an Area Sales Manager. He earlier had worked for the Jamestown Police Department as a patrolman, as well as Master Carvers and Crawford Furniture. Stephen was a member of Praise Fellowship where he served by helping facilitate ministry classes. He was an Amateur Radio operator (N2ITF) and a member of local radio club Chautauqua County Amateur FM Association where he had served as Club President and Board Member. He belonged to the American Relay Radio League where he was at one time Western New York Section Manager. Surviving are his wife Diane Ryan, three children: Nathaniel Ryan of Jamestown, Jennifer (Jarred) Washington of Chicago, IL and Adam Ryan of Colorado; a grandson Marcus Washington; two step children Anthony (Chona) Muscarella of Roseville, CA and Daniel Muscarella of Austin, TX; a step grandson Marc Muscarella; a brother Glenn (Sarah) Ryan of Virginia and a sister Beth (Michael) Dunker of Jamestown, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Reverend Timothy Smart will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
