Obituary of Lester D. Moore

Lester D. Moore, 70, of Tanglewood Manor, died Monday October 20, 2014 in WCA Hospital. He was born October 19, 1944 in Sioux City, IA the son of the late Charles L. and Sidney Cook Moore. Prior to retirement, Lester worked at Muv-All Trailers and previously in the Lime Mining Industry, in Iowa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved animals. Lester will be remembered as a magnificent story teller and jokester. He always put others first, trying to encourage them and lift them up. Lester loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren, and his extended family at Tanglewood Manor. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Phyllis Honaker Moore whom he married December 10, 1976; two sons, Nicholas Moore (Kristie) of Colorado; Dewayne Moore (Christy) of Warren, PA; two daughters, Yvonne Moore of Falconer; Shawna Moore Tellinghuisen (Tracy) of Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Micah, Isaac, Serenity, Taydem, Kyle, Kendra, Kyla, Isaac C., and Jada; a sister, Norma McKwon of Omaha, NE; and a brother, Jearld Moore (Elaine) of Lincoln, NE. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Barbara; and two brothers, Hubert and Tommy. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
