Obituary of Donald E. Lepley

Donald E. Lepley, 81, of 2065 Warner Road in Panama, died Friday, October 31, 2014 in WCA Hospital. He was born June 30, 1933 in Franklin, PA, a son of the late John and Gertrude Cramer Lepley, and served in the US Army from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean War. Don had been employed for many years by MRC, and in earlier years by Crescent Tool. He enjoyed baseball and softball, both playing in earlier years and later watching the sport, especially when his grandchildren played. Don also loved the outdoors and hunting. Surviving are three sons, John Lepley and Donald "Dutch" Lepley, both of Panama and Steve (Lynn) Lepley of Kenly, NC; two grandchildren, Teal Lepley of Kenly and Heather Lepley of Jamestown; a great-grandson, Thomas Pratton of Jamestown; a brother, Richard (Ann) Lepley and sister, Elizabeth Tarr, both of Lakewood; two sisters-in-law, Ann Lepley of Busti and Romain Stanton of Warren, PA; as well as his longtime best friend, Dick (Carol) Patton of Sherman, who was like a brother to him. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja J. Lindquist Lepley, whom he married July 6, 1959 and who died June 1, 2007; and a brother, Robert Lepley. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Panama Fire Department, 27 E.
