Obituary of Kathy Jean Long

Kathy J. Long, 64, of Venice, FL and formerly of Lakewood, NY, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 4, 1950, in Buffalo NY to the late Clayton and Marion Becker. She was a 1968 graduate of East Aurora High School. Prior to retiring, she worked for the Sportsman Club, Winturn Realty, Hickory Farms, Ashville BOCES, and was a hairdresser for 43 years. She was also a member of the Lakewood Woman's Auxiliary where she volunteered for Christmas charities and arranged for gifts to be sent to military personnel in the Middle East. Surviving are her husband, Dale "Rattler" Long; her children: Stephen of Jamestown, Michael of Palm Harbor FL, Jenell (Jerry) of Mayville; Spanish children: Isaac Esparza and Mari Gaztambide of Houston TX, Conchita Sacristan of Madrid Spain, Montse Barbat (Michel) of Barcelona Spain; Grandchildren: Stephen, Alexis, Christopher, Vincent, Federico; 2 sisters: Cynthia (Neale) Kerlin of Chaffee and Linda Brecher of Arcade; 2 brothers: Richard Becker of Alden and Raymond Becker of East Aurora. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Roger Becker, sister in law Donna Becker, and brother in law Carl Brecher. Friends will be received on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 1pm-3pm and 6pm-8pm at the Lind Funeral Home. In between visiting hours, from 3pm-5 pm, family and friends are invited to the American Legion Post 1286 in Lakewood for food and beverage.
