Obituary of Charlene M. Forness

Charlene M. Forness, 72, of 3365 Old Fluvanna Road, Jamestown, died at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday (November 25, 2014) in WCA Hospital. She was born September 15, 1942 in Niagara Falls, a daughter of the late Charles and Edna Carlson Brown. She had been employed for a number of years by WCA Hospital, retiring from the medical records department. A member of Fluvanna Community Church, Charlene was active in Women Aglow and had ministered to women in the Chautauqua County jail. She had also been active in Choose Life and volunteered at the Fluvanna Library. She is survived by her husband, Eugene P. Forness, whom she married June 25, 1994; a son, Joseph A. (Allison) Makuch of Dothan, AL and a daughter, Alicia C. (Mark) Deponceau of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Jordan and Joey Makuch and Hunter, Collin and Chase Deponceau; and two sisters, Barbara (Joseph) Sykes and Maryanne (Mark) Watters, both of Provo, UT. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Williams and Sharon Ross; and foster parents, Harold and Cleo Swanson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
