Obituary of Margaret J. Couchenour

Margaret J. "Jean" Couchenour, 89, of 142 Marion Street, died Sunday November 30, 2014 in WCA Hospital. A native of Toronto, Ohio, she was born June 11, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Edna Miller Steele. She was a 1943 graduate of Warren High School, Warren, PA. She was employed by Quality Markets for 25 years, retiring in 1986 as head cashier. She loved to travel with her husband, read and work puzzles. She especially liked spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are four children Richard (Diane) Couchenour of Jamestown, Terence Couchenour of Busti, Patricia (David) Boardman of Frewsburg and Beth (Peter) Jones of Suwanee, GA; nine grandchildren Richard Couchenour of Fort Mill, SC, Terence Couchenour II and Christian Couchenour, both of Lakewood, Mark Boardman of Frewsburg, Michelle McNeal of Jamestown, Dawn Strother of Lakewood, Debra Herbstsomer of Mt. Airy, MD and Megan and Hannah Jones of Suwanee, GA; fourteen great grandchildren and a brother Jack Steele of Warren, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert "Bud" Couchenour, whom she married January 19, 1944 and who died November 24, 2007; a son Craig Couchenour; two great grandchildren Corrina and Cassidy Boardman and two sisters Olive Morell and JoAnn Dudick. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.
