Obituary of Patricia L. Hartzell

Patricia L. Hartzell, 78, of 413 Hall Rd. Jamestown, NY, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. An area resident for most of her life, she was born May 29, 1936 in Tionesta, PA, a daughter of the late James and Mary Horm Eck. In early years she had worked for the former National Worsted Mills and was a member of the War Vets Recreation Club and the Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed celebrating the holidays with family and friends and baking Christmas cookies. She also loved playing bingo. Her happiest times were when she was taking care of her grandchildren. She was one of the most kind- hearted and strongest person's you could ever know and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Surviving is the love of her life and husband, Lewis F. Hartzell whom she married September 17, 1955, her children; James F. (Tammy) Hartzell, Russell L. (Carol) Hartzell, Patrick E. (Marcie) Hartzell, Lewis F. (Gina) Hartzell, Jr. all of Jamestown, Tammy M. (Charlie) Hartzell Herrington of Ashville, NY, 13 grandchildren; Russell Hartzell, Jr., Tara Hartzell, Mark Eck, Brian Eck, Crystal Eck, Patrick Hartzell, Jr., Christopher Hartzell, Corry Hartzell, Natalie Hartzell, Kayla Hartzell, Jessica Herrington, Samantha Herrington, Olivia Herrington, 9 great grandchildren, three sisters; Gloria (John) Williams of Jamestown, Rosie Cullip of Sterling, CO, Kathy (Dick) Carroll of Vowinkle. PA, three brothers; James Eck of Sterling, CO, Claire (Jodi) Eck of Denver, CO, Richard (Billie) Eck of Vowinkle, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Mark A. Eck, two brothers; Charles and Danny Eck and a sister Karen J. Sherbine. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronald A. Lemon, pastor of Koinonia Christian Fellowship, Frewsburg will officiate. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
