Obituary of Jeanette A. Hansen

Jeanette Alida Hansen, 94, formerly of 161 Brad St. in Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Hermod Hansen who died June 9, 1991. Jeanette was born July 28, 1920 in Sortland, Norway, a daughter of the late Otto and Nanna Johnsen Davidsen. She and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1946 following World War II. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Thule Lodge. Jeanette's family and friends will always remember her many vivid memories and stories of years in Norway. Surviving are two sons, Ivan (Deidra) Hansen and Fritz Hansen, both of Jamestown, and a daughter, Vorin (Richard) Johnston of Sun City Center, FL; three grandchildren: Amber (Eric) Kuras of Lancaster, NY, Christopher (Jeanne) Johnston of East Amherst, NY, and Corinne (Joe) Mahoney of Lakewood, CO; and five great-grandchildren: Lauren and Jonathan Mahoney, Hannah and Ryan Johnston, and Noah Kuras. In addition to her husband, she will be united in Heaven with her mother and father, Otto and Nanna Davidsen; her brothers, David Johan Davidsen, Gjermund Karstein Lars Davidsen and Alfons Davidsen; and her sister, Hildur Asveig Lockert. A private family memorial service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Lutheran Social Services Foundation, 715 Falconer St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
