Ben we bumped into each other many many years ago on a CB. Then We became best friends and I met your Wonderful family. We always had good times and were like brothers in all the things we did together. Ben and I in all the years we were friends we had more fun then monkeys in a barrel, and most folks thought we where clowns. But most important thing about Ben is he was all Heart as bigger than Gold and loved everyone. Ben's daughter Elizabeth was the most special part of his life that he Loved more than anything in the world. Ben, she as well as myself and many others love U, will not ever forget you, also U have a piece of our Heart. I love U and will miss U Ben and know there will be a day in time that we will all join each other again, Amen.

I will always remember meeting Ben at Midway Park and him welcoming me to his family. No matter the distance and how long it had been since we talked, when I talked on the phone just a couple weeks ago it seemed like we had just seen each other a couple days prior. What a warm and humorous guy. Will Miss Ben but know I will see him again one day.

I'll always remember the earlier days working with Ben. He had the ability to put a smile on your face or make you laugh. My fondest memory though would be when he played his guitar for us. He covered some of the greatest songs in history such as stairway to heaven by led Zeppelin and my personal favorite, silent lucidity by queensryche. I've often thought of you playing that song for us while working through the years and I'm sure that I'll always think of you anytime I hear it in the future. RIP

A number of years ago,Ben responded with the Maple Springs rescue unit for what could have been potentially fatal bleeding following surgery the previous morning. He tended me with great care on the way to WCA, and even came to visit me the following day to see that I was OK.

Two final thoughts. My sincerest prayers and condolences to not only Ben and Wesley's family, but, also to their friends, coworkers, and all who are touched by this. Also a song comes to mind with regards to all of this. It's by Nickleback and it's called, oddly enough, "If Today was Your Last Day". No, it's not Elvis, but, I think Ben would probably agree with me. ❤️

Today I am reminded just how precious life is & I pause to reflect on it. I'm still in shock and possibly denial. Tho we hadn't talked in a few years, we recently reconnected and were reminiscing about the old days from high school & growing up together from kindergarten thru the years. One memory in particular was our senior year & the antics we(& a few others)did in the senior lounge. From the snowball fights to testing the boundaries of what we could & couldn't get away with. Ben Lutgen, I will always remember you as the gentle giant you were w/ a wicked sense of humor! Rest in peace with your father & mother, old friend, til we meet again.

Ben, When i started working for services, i met you in Dunkirk. I was always intentively listening to your humourous jokes and stories. When we became partners on the 9 to 7 truck i was sure it was going to be entertaining and was it ever. You were a life saver, a giver, a father, a friend. A man that wouldn't think twice about giving the shirt off his back. I hope you rest in peace my friend, for I will never forget you 158.
