I worked with Verna for a few months back in the late 70's at the Census Bureau. We had such fun together. I moved away in 1981 but we kept in touch all these years at Christmas and our annual birthday letters to each other. She always wrote about family and the good times you would have together. Even though I haven't seen her in almost 25 years, I miss her already. I always looked forward for her newsy letters of home. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. She was a lovely lady.
Dear Becky and Kathy, Thinking of you at this difficult time. What fun we had as neighbors when we were little (except for me biting you!) You bond with someone when you take your baths in the kitchen sink together! What fun our parents had as neighbors! They would stay up late outside in the summer evenings laughing and chatting over coffee or cold drinks. Your parents always took such good care of the house.....your Dad always returning dog do on the grass back to the dog's own yard! I can picture him walking by the front of our house with his shovel! Funny what you remember. I will always remember how good Verna and Rudy were to me and what good friends they were to my parents. Wish you would have lived next door to us longer! Happy for your Mom now....reunited with Rudy and family and friends. Certain there will be more laughs and more coffee with Harry and Edie! Verna....you made the world a kinder place.
My sincere sympathy to the family of Verna.I worked with Verna at Penneys. She worked in the money room and I worked in the office. She was friendly, kind and a great worker. She also had the patience of the world when a co-worker and I had to learn the money room.
