My mother Joan Wickins was Ron's cousin. He was always the first to arrive at the reunions to light the grill so everyone could cook their food, and was the last to leave our reunions making sure everyone had a good time. "uncle" Ron inspired me to go to college to make a better life for my children. I am currently enrolled at ITT-Technical institute in the criminal justice program looking at graduation in March of this year. He was a very thoughtful, intelligent man who always hads his arms outstretched to lend a hand to help or to give great big hugs.I send my deepest sympathies to Dixie, Karen, Dick, Amy, Michelle and their families. He will be missed greatly. My deepest sympathies for everyone who had the pleasure of being in Ron's life.

To say we lost an incredible man last week is an understatement....I was continually amazed at the dedication Ron Cotten had for our military...never a Veteran's need went unnoticed to Ron. From memorial ceremonies to parades to soldiers' unmarked graves to a new memorial park, Ron never gave the effort that would be needed to accomplish these tasks a second thought. He rallied the troops and accomplished what needed to be. It was an honor and a joy to work with him over the years. We had promised each other a get together after the holidays. I think I shall plan a quiet cup of coffee at Friendly's today in memory of our great conversations over a cup or two there...God Bless, Love and R.I.P., Ron.

"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." Leo Buscaglia
