Obituary of Vincenza Galati

Vincenza (Jenny) Galati, 86, of Jupiter, FL, formerly of Foote Ave., Jamestown, NY, passed away at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015, in the Courtyard Gardens, Jupiter, FL. A Jamestown resident for most of her life, she was born September 15, 1928 in Scillato, Sicily a daughter of the late Joseph and Angela DiStefano Oddo. Jenny was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She and her late husband enjoyed swimming at the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club several times a week in earlier years. Jenny was a loving mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was an extraordinary cook and baker and took great pleasure in sharing her wonderful bake goods with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and had a golden touch with flowers; Foote Avenue never looked the same after she moved away. Surviving are a son, Joseph P. (MaryAnn) Galati of Jamestown, a daughter, Ann Marie (Keith) Pallo of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, six grandchildren, Andrea Galati of Rochester, NY, Alexandra Pallo, a student at the University of GA, Bianca Pallo, of Palm Beach Gardens, Olivia Pallo, a student at the University of Miami, FL, Jason (Lillianne) Pallo, both Captains in the USAF, of Fairborn, OH, Danielle Pallo, of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Catarina Oddo and a brother Paolo Oddo both of Scillato, Sicily Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Peter Galati whom she married August 19, 1950 and who died July 24, 2011 and two sisters, Serena DiLaura and Marietta Frisa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015, in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
