Obituary of Leo E. Hummerich

Leo E. Hummerich, Jr., 84, of 47 West Terrace Ave., Lakewood, NY, passed away at 9:51 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born November 29, 1930 in North Warren, PA, a son of the late Leo E. and Oda Clendenning Hummerich, Sr. Leo was a graduate of Warren Area High School and was a 1952 graduate of Notre Dame University. Before his retirement in 1997, he was a purchasing agent for the former Crawford Furniture Company for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. He also enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to New York City, for over 40 years, to experience all that the big city offers. Surviving are a son, Leo E. Hummerich, III of Jamestown, a daughter, Jayne Field of Gloucester, VA, three grandchildren, Michael Reich of Washington, DC, Nicholas Hummerich of Rochester, NY, Rachael Hummerich of Jamestown, a brother, David Hummerich of San Diego, CA, and a sister, Carol Gibson of Lake Forest, CA. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation observed. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd.
