Obituary of Daniel Kudzy

Daniel Kudzy, 91, of Hopkins, MN formerly of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the Hennepin County Medical Center, Minn. MN. He was born June 11, 1923 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Michael and Mary Sabor Kudzy. Dan was a proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Artillery Division serving in the Philippines from 1943 - 1946. Before his retirement he was employed as the manager in the testing lab for the Marlin Rockwell Company for 35 years. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband and father. Dan loved spending time with his family and traveling. He had the privilege of visiting all 50 states throughout his life. Before moving to Minnesota, Dan and Gloria lived in Colorado and Florida. He loved raising roses and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Dan also loved reading, cooking, playing bridge and always had a keen interest in life and a constant thirst for knowledge. Surviving are a son, Dennis M. (Laura Lucas) Kudzy of Edina, MN, three sisters, Katherine Kudzy, Irene LeGrega, Anne (Ed) Eckman, a brother Theodore Kudzy. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife the former Gloria E. Hiller Kudzy whom he married July 3, 1954 and who died April 12, 2014, a sister Marian (Don) Hall, a brother-in-law, Michael LeGrega and sister-in-law Mary Kudzy. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015, in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Samuel Pellerito of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the funeral home.
