Obituary of Ronald G. Murray

Ronald G. Murray, 71, of Frewsburg, formerly of Jamestown, died unexpectedly February 4, 2015, in his home. He was born June 25, 1943, in Titusville, PA, a son of the late Gerald and Thelma Ball Murray. He attended Southwestern Central School and later served in the US Army from 1961-63. Starting in 1966, he was employed by National Fuel Gas as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1999. He earlier had worked for Jamestown Public Schools in the maintenance department from 1963-66. He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg Ron was an avid golfer and spent the last several winters in South Carolina enjoying great times with friends. He was dearly loved by his family and will be sadly missed by his sons and grandson. He was extremely proud of all of them. Surviving are two sons Shawn (JoAnn) Murray of Jamestown and Kevin (Kristina) Murray of Bridgeport, WV; a grandson Seth Murray of Jamestown; three brothers Richard (Kathleen) Murray of Oil City, PA, James (Lorie) Murray and Jerold (Donna) Murray of Houston, TX and a sister Kathryn (Mark) Holdsworth of Houston TX. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Seaward and Bruce Murray. A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed.
