Obituary of Ronald A. Paterniti

Ronald A. Paterniti, 63, of 46 Howard St., died Friday, February 6, 2015 in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born July 19, 1951 in Jamestown, a son of the late Anthony N. and Ida V. Bellardo Paterniti, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969. He also attended St. Bonaventure University. Ron entered the U.S. Air Force in 1972 and served until his retirement in 1992 as a Master Sergeant. During his career, he saw duty throughout the United States and in Germany, England and Operation Desert Storm. He attended St. James Catholic Church and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ron is survived by a brother, Richard A. (Lucia) Paterniti of Ferndale, MD; two nephews, Antonio (Mariel) Paterniti of Elkridge, MD and Gian Paolo Paterniti of Glen Burnie, MD; numerous Paterniti and Bellardo cousins; and his lifelong, childhood friend, John (and Mary Grace) Brustrom of Jamestown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy will be celebrant. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
