Obituary of Judith E. Blair

Judith E. "Judy" Blair, 69, of 4911 Route 474, Ashville, NY passed away at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015, in her home following an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family. An area resident for most of her life, she was born May 10, 1945 in Dos Palos, CA a daughter of Eunice Ahrens Hedges and the late Everett Hedges. Judy was a 1963 graduate of Frewsburg High School. Before her retirement, she was employed as a Lab Technician for Trinity Biotech USA, formerly Clark Laboratories, where she worked for over 20 years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She also enjoyed knitting and annually donated hats and mittens to the First Lutheran Church in Jamestown, NY. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, reading and her daily crossword puzzle. Surviving are her mother, Eunice Hedges of Frewsburg, her seven children, Bettina Blair, Chrissy Blair, Elwood Blair all of Ashville, NY, Cassandra Blair, Michelle Blair both of Jamestown, Jeffrey (Nova Joy) Hedges of Frewsburg, NY, Shawn (Sherrie) Hedges of Lockport, NY, four grandchildren, Micayla Blair, Madilyn Moran, Chaos Hedges, Chance Hedges, two step-children, Lisa Burgard and LaVerne "Skip" Blair and two sisters, Jessie Bloomquist of Kennedy, NY, Jacqualine Brehm of Buffalo, NY. Besides her father she was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne "Vern" Blair whom she married May 19, 1979 and who died November 2, 2004, a daughter, Teresa Blair Ellis who died February 12, 2007 and a brother Robert Hedges who died April 27, 2014. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Nathan Bailey, Ministry Director of Park United Methodist Church, Sinclairville, will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville, NY. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
