Please accept my deepest sympathy for I too know the pain of losing someone you love. May your family find comfort as I have in knowing that our loving heavenly Father promises us that very soon he will 'wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more.' I am a friend of Jims who grew up on the north side of Jamestown. I followed his career and was always proud of this man from Jamestown. Shorty after opening the Pub he sponsored our bowling team for several years. Our paths haven't crossed much as we got older but I always knew we were friends. My heart goes out to all of his family. You will be in my prayer and thought during this sorrowful time, MOXXL

Dear Mary and family,
When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Hold on to those memories and let them guide you during this time of sadness. Please remember that Jim was a special part of a well-lived life. He meant so many things to so many people. Always the gentleman and perfect host when we visited from the South. So many wonderful memories. Have hope in tomorrow, have faith in the everlasting, and take comfort in the love of friends and family. Love you so much, Pattie

It is hard to believe that Jim will no longer be a permanent fixture at The Pub any longer. I have so many memories of the noon lunch crowd and regulars at The Pub all through my career having worked downtown since the early 1970's. I will always remember Jim's big smile and warm and personable personality and great sense of humor. He always had a story to share or a funny anecdote and took an active role in the back and forth banter from the Pub faithful. Jamestown has lost a truly great man and a mainstay of the downtown business community and will be greatly missed by The Pub Family. Rest in peace my friend...!

Mary, Sam and families: The McCuskers, Sr., and Jim and you, were a major and large part of 24 years of my life, [1970-1994, or thereabouts], and the Dow House 'family', ever-evolving, in those days; Pri-Det, Riolo & Sedlck Ins., Weaver Materiel, NYSUT, Lynch & Hite and others - [Daisy, too!!!] and the words which will be expressed today and for the next few weeks, have ALWAYS been said about Jim, a gentle giant, generous, kind and loving, and, now, who will greatly be missed in the Jamestown area - rest in peace, guy, we all love you. Somehow, I find it terribly fitting and comforting to know you passed in your home, one which we all, who worked there, also considered 'home'.... With respect and love, my heartfelt condolences, JK

Thank you for all the wonderful childhood memories. Thank you for always putting a smile on my mother Kendra's face. I'll never forget you having Sammy teach me how to throw a football, paying me for sweeping the pub with video games and oyster crackers from under the counter. You started my love for cinnamon jelly beans- you introduced me to life long friends. I am forever grateful for your love:)
