Obituary of William C. Knight

William C. Knight, 78, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Mayville, NY passed away Wednesday February 11, 2015 in West Palm Hospital. He was born April 5, 1936 in Salamanca, NY the son of the late Leo S. Sr. and Dorothy Cavanaugh Knight. Bill was a veteran of the US Army. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Hot Stick Line Foreman for Niagara Mohawk Power Co for 36 years. He was a member of St. Isaacs Joques Catholic Church in Sherman and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed a long snowshoe trek on a cold sunny winter day. He was totally devoted to his family. They were the love and purpose of his life; his wife of 54 years, Kathleen Hartley Knight; daughter Julie M. Korban of Columbus, OH; two sons, Timothy P. (DeAnn) Knight of Raleigh, NC; W. Bradley (Theresa) Knight of Greenhurst; six grandchildren, Carly Korban, Connor Korban, Lauren Knight, Calvin Knight, Columb Knight, and Katelyn Knight. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leo S. Knight Jr., and a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Knight. All are welcome to a celebration of Bill's life at 3 p.m. Wednesday February 18, 2015 at Shaggy's in Bemus Point. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to Bill's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
