Obituary of Gerald M. Anderson

Gerald M. Anderson, 77, of 323 Willard Street, died Tuesday February 17, 2015, in Heritage Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born September 9, 1937, in Jamestown, the son of the late Roy Anderson and Christine Smith Sandwall. He was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown High School. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper in Germany. Fondly known as "Bozo" to his fellow sheet metal workers he had been employed by several area businesses including King's Heating, Kibler Heating and Sprinchorn. Surviving are his wife of 45 years Susan Gronberg; a daughter Kera Sue (Michael) Vanham of Rochester; three grandchildren Lars Erik, Nissa Linnea and Nils Anders Vanham, to whom he was known as Morfar and a sister Carol Salhoff of Dunkirk. In accordance with his wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
