Obituary of Nancy F. Gaden
Nancy F. Gaden passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2015 in WCA Hospital. She was born January 21, 1933 in Brookline, Mass., the daughter of the late Richard C. and Nancy O. Floyd.
Nancy graduated from the Winsor School and Wheelock College and began teaching elementary and nursery school which she did for a number of years.
She was an avid volunteer providing a music ministry to area seniors in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She was a recipient of the Axel Carlson Award (Unsung Hero) from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and received national recognition from the Met Life Foundation Older Volunteers Enrich America Awards.
She is survived by her husband Joel T. Gaden; three children: Nancy W. Gaden of Boston, Mass., William S. Gaden II of New York, N.Y., Julie G. Lechner of Holly Springs, N.C.; two grandchildren: Anna J. Gaden and Jerome A. Lechner; a sister Lindsay Barrett; and a brother Richard C. Floyd.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
