Obituary of Molly Elizabeth Moore Lawson
Molly Elizabeth Moore Lawson, 27, of 198 Hazeltine Ave. Jamestown, NY, formerly of Winch Rd, Lakewood, NY, became a citizen of Heaven at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in her home as a result of a recurrent glioblastoma.
A lifelong area resident, she was born October 18, 1987 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of Bruce and Susan Moore.
Molly married the love of her life, Tyler T. Lawson on July 12, 2014, at the Family Church of Jamestown.
Molly was a 2006 graduate of Southwestern Central School and a 2010 graduate of Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pa with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary English Education.
She was employed by Wegman's for over 10 years, most recently in W-Kids, and at the time of her illness was a teller for the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union.
Molly attended Family Church of Jamestown and had a strong faith in her Lord and Saviour and was witness to many during her seven year journey with brain cancer.
She had previously attended the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. During her years at Mercyhurst she served as a student ambassador and was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and was a volunteer for the Clara's Way Community Shelter, Emmaus Soup Kitchen and the Martin Luther King Center, Erie, PA.
Molly enjoyed spending time with her family and church friends. She loved pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate, up-lifting Christian Music, movies and all things Disney.
Surviving are her parents of Lakewood, NY, her husband Tyler T. Lawson; three brothers, Nathan Moore of Oceanside, CA, Daniel Moore (Christy Finke) of Rochester, NY, Andrew Moore (Ashley Tordoff) of Erie, PA; her paternal grandparents Jack and Jean McCrea Moore of Lakewood; her mother and father- in- law David and Vicky Lawson of Jamestown; her brother- in- law Jonathon (Carolyn) Lawson of Jamestown, grandmother- in- law Delores Adams of Lakewood; a niece Natalie Moore of Oceanside, CA; a nephew Aviel Muscarella of Jamestown; her aunts, Kristine Lamar Raper of Atlanta, GA, Delma June (Jeffrey) Grodecki of Jamestown; her uncles, Jonathan Moore of Oceanside, CA, Jeffrey Moore of Croton-On-Hudson, NY; her four cousins, Mary and Amanda Grodecki of Bremerton, WA, Joi Moore of Atlanta, GA, Lexi Moore of Oceanside, CA; and also survived by many close friends especially Christy Lasher of Salt Lake City, UT and Nicole Waldow of Concord, NH, who were her maids of honor in her July wedding.
She was preceded n death by her maternal grandparents, Delma and Gertrude Raper and her Uncle Bradley Moore.
The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Family Church of Jamestown. The Rev. Douglas Kibbe, pastor of the Church on the Rock, and Rev. Timothy Stahlman, pastor of Family Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Drs. William Diefenbach and Jan Rothman for their love and care during Molly's illness. In addition, the family is grateful for the excellent care provided by the Regional Cancer Center, Erie, PA, as well as St Vincent's Hospital in Erie, PA, and a big thank you to Aunt Dee Dee for the care she provided to Molly during her last weeks.
