Obituary of Patsy J. Paduano
Patsy J. Paduano, 87, of Greenhurst Mobile Village, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Friday, February, 27, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong area resident, he was born April 10, 1927 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Pasquale and Carmella Palazzo Paduano.
Patsy was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from July 13, 1945 to January 2, 1947 during World War II.
Before his retirement in 1984, he was employed as a brake operator for the Dowcraft Corporation where he worked for 38 years.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Ira Lou Spring Post 49, American Legion, the Jamestown Moose Lodge, and the Jamestown Eagles Lodge. He also played in the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp.
He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who was an excellent woodworking craftsman. He made several wood products for his family and friends over the years. He also enjoyed music and was an avid dancer well into his 80's.
Surviving are his wife of almost 64 years, Vivian E. Pike Paduano whom he married March 31, 1961, four children, Monalee (John) Keul of Greenhurst, Maureen Paduano of Fluvanna, Jerry (Suzette) Paduano of Panama, Maria (Brian) Berube of Greenhurst, five grandchildren, Nick Paduano, Jennifer McDonald, Kristin McNitt, Andrea Conklin, Laura Ferraro, eight great grandchildren and a brother, Norman Paduano of Edgewater, FL.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Zoey Conklin, two sisters, Angeline Paduano, Margaret Newcomb, and two infant brothers.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Visitation will not be observed.
Inurnment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
