Obituary of Ronald E. Dick
Ronald E. "Ziggy" Dick, 79, of Sinclairville, NY, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 in WCA Hospital. He was born August 10, 1935 in Charles, PA, a son of the late Ellis and Lois Naugle Dick. He attended school in Charles and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1953 until his discharge in 1957.
Ron was a 25 year employee of Falconer Glass Industries. He was a member of the VFW Post #9487 in Franklinville, NY and the Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion in Celoron.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting deer and turkey as well as fishing in various lakes and creeks in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sylvia Seastrom Dick, whom he married June 19, 1981; two daughters, Valerie Wolfer of Delevan, NY and Carla Klein of Yorkshire, NY; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Chuck and Don Dick, both of Arcade, NY and Dennis Dick of Sardinia, NY; and five sisters, Janet Kramer, Shirley Silsby and Sharon Tousley, all of Arcade, Lea Weideman of Sardinia and Wanda McKean of Pauldon, AZ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Dick; a daughter, Karen Rupp; grandson, Shane Wolfer; and an infant sister, Brenda Dick.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Falconer United Methodist church. Pastor Brian Lothridge will officiate.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
