Obituary of Bruce A. Bouma

Bruce A. Bouma, 81, of Jamestown, NY passed away at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident since 1976, he was born October 5, 1933 in Evergreen Park, IL a son of the late Albert and C. Maxine Kerr Bouma. Bruce was a 1969 graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Before his retirement he was the Director of Credit for Al Tech Speciality Steel Company in Dunkirk, NY for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War from November 9, 1954 to August 30, 1956. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1962. He was a member of the Vikings Lodge, the Ellery Memorial Post 947, Veteran of Foreign Wars, the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, the War Vets Recreation Club, Jamestown Coin Club and the Stamp Club. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lorraine Carlson Bouma whom he married June 14, 1958, three daughters; Lynn (Bill) Henderson of Apex, NC, Nanci (Damian) McDonald of Cold Spring, NY, Jennifer Lynn Bouma of Rochester, NY, three grandchildren; Emily Henderson of Chapel Hill, NC, Wylie and Quinn McDonald both of Cold Spring, NY. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Christ First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Natalie Hanson, pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in Soldiers Circle of Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Ellery Memorial Post # 947, Veteran of Foreign Wars, 4498 Dutch Hollow Rd.
