After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II (Okinawa), Ted graduated from Grove City College. He was employed as credit manager of Marlin Rockwell-TRW-SKF Bearings for 38 years. Ted had been a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church since 1947, where he was active as long as his health allowed. He served on the trustees and the church council for many years, and was the liaison between the church and the Boy Scout troop that it sponsored. He was also a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge # 145 Free and Accepted Masons.
Ted enjoyed working outdoors, and helped others who could not do their own yard work. He cleared the land for his home with a view of Chautauqua Lake, and also enjoyed boating and canoeing. He cut and split the firewood for his and Winnie's "favorite sport of fireplacing."
Friends will be received at the Lakewood United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 27th. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Nick Perry. A Masonic Lodge Funeral Service will precede the memorial service, followed by a luncheon in fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 164 Shadyside Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750.
