Obituary of Gloria E. Anderson

Gloria E. Anderson, 76, of Lakewood, NY, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born July 22, 1938 in Ashville, NY a daughter of the late Axel H. and Bernice Steves Samuelson. Gloria was a graduate of the former Chautauqua Central School. In earlier years she had attended the Lakewood United Methodist Church and was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Auxiliary, Celoron. She was employed by Hopes Architectural Products for 35 years retiring in 1992 due to ill health. She had previously been employed by the former Nelson Department Store. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (John) Angeletti of Ashville, NY and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Anderson whom she married September 23, 1966 and who died March 22, 2007, a sister Catherine and her husband Walter Green of Erie, PA, a brother, Gilbert and his wife Barbara Samuelson of Jamestown and a nephew Warren Green. A private service was held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, retired chaplain of W.C.A. Hospital officiated. Burial was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York, 3871 Harlem Rd., Cheektowaga, NY 14215 or to a charity of one's choice.
