Obituary of Eva Mae Beish

Eva Mae Beish, 80, formerly of 815 Lafayette St. Jamestown passed away at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident for most of her life, she was born June 29, 1934 in Gowanda, NY a daughter of the late Denton Brown and the late Sophie Stosh. She was a graduate of Gowanda High School and earned her associate degree in criminal justice from Jamestown Community College. Before her retirement years she was employed as a security guard for the former Jamesway Store and the Chautauqua Mall. She also worked as a crossing guard at Love Elementary School and in later years was a child care worker for the YMCA. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to spend time in her vegetable and flower garden. She also loved playing bingo, dancing, singing and listening to music. Her favorite pastime was going to auctions and garage sales. Surviving are two sons, Clarence Beish, Jr., Duane "Ed" (Babette) Beish both of Jamestown, two daughters, Marifrances Steen of Gald, CA, Belinda (Tim) O'Connor of Jamestown, eight grandchildren, Bob Burdic, III of Columbus, IN, Joshua Steen, Tyler Steen both of Gald, CA, Cherie White, Edward Beish, Jamie Beish, Kellie Beish, Alexis Beish all of Jamestown, three great grandchildren, two half siblings and her Aunt Pauline Fill of Youngsville, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candance Beish and a half sister, Jeannette Sanford and an infant son, Vincent Ventura. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of St. Lukes Episcopal Church. The Rev. Luke F. Fodor, Rector will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
