Obituary of Cynthia A. Sperry

Cynthia A. Sperry, 57, of 2487 Beech St., Jamestown, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, in Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab, Dunkirk. She was born April 10, 1958, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Walter Johnson and Nancy Peterson Johnson Walden. A 30-year employee of The Resource Source Center, she was a secretary to the nurses. She also worked as a home care provider and an Avon consultant. She enjoyed making crafts. Surviving are her companion of 27 years Leary Walker Sr., with whom she made her home; four children: George (Megan) Sperry III of Erie, Pa., Natasha Cruz of Jamestown, Leary Walker Jr. of Jamestown, and Katrina Walker of Spartanburg, S.C.; 11 grandchildren: Keston and Kase Leeper, Jordan, Joslyn and Nevaeh Sperry, Craig Matteson, Sharaia, Alexes, Carlie and Learae Walker and Madison Walker-Blake; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce (Tracey) Johnson of Frewsburg, N.Y.; a niece, Amanda Johnson Vaccaro of Washington, D.C.; and two nephews: Bruce Johnson Jr. and Brandon Johnson, both of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Sperry. The funeral will be held at noon Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. LeRoy Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W.
