Obituary of Joan S. Walker

Joan S. Bardo Walker, 79, of 83 S. Chicago Ave. WE, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 in WCA Hospital. She was the wife of Paul Walker, whom she married November 9, 1985. A Jamestown native, she was born April 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose Palermo Bardo. Joan was a licensed beautician and had been a member of the Moose. She enjoyed garage sales and flea markets, always searching for Native American artifacts, artwork and jewelry, especially turquoise. In addition to her husband Paul, she is survived by two sons: Neil Sampson of Syracuse and John (Darlene) Sampson of Jamestown; three daughters: Cheryll Storms of Jamestown, Wendy (Frank) Marracino of Clarence and Kimberly (Chris) Pumm of Orchard Park; five grandchildren: Jason Mahoney, Theresa Russo, Jeremy Sampson, Michael Marracino and Katie Pumm; seven great-grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Wayne (Becky) Walker of Tennessee. Joan's family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Ong and the nursing staff at WCA Hospital. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date to be announced. Visitation will not be observed.
