Obituary of Mary B. Hendrickson

Mary B. Hendrickson, 85, of 21 Windsor Place, W.E., passed away at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in her home. A lifelong area resident, she was born September 24, 1929 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Loren E. and Nina R. Hoar Townsend. Mary was a graduate of Jamestown High School Class of 1947. Before her retirement she was employed as a job placement officer for the New York State Department of Labor, where she worked for 27 years. She was an active member of the Western New York Kidney Association serving as past Treasurer and was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. She also loved to travel and was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. Surviving are her husband, Allan D. Hendrickson whom she married August 21, 1948, a daughter, JoAnn E. (Steve) Gould of Fairport, NY, a daughter-in-law, Theresa Fitzgerald of Wellsville, NY, five grandchildren, Jessica (Brad) Winchell of Ulster, NY, Rachael (Mike Sherfy) Gould of Shorewood, IL, Juniper (Eric) Wilder, Simeon Hendrickson both of Rochester, NY, Ryan (Aidan) Gould of Austin, TX, five great grandchildren, Scarlet and Reid Wilder, Genevieve Sherfy, Nora and Townsend Gould. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Allan Hendrickson who died August 18, 1983, a brother Arthur E. Townsend, and a sister Lorraine Inserra. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, Hospice Chaplain will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
