Obituary of Anthony S. Marano

Anthony S. "Tony" Marano, 79, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully Monday May 11, 2015 in his home. He was born April 11, 1936 in Buffalo the son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Marano. Prior to retirement, he was employed by American Brass in Buffalo. Tony was an active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He loved the church and served in many capacities, including Altar Server and maintenance man inside and outside of the building. He will be missed. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Dolce Marano; a daughter, Cheryl (Pat) Hayes of Jamestown; three sons, Anthony S. Marano of East Aurora, NY; Charles "Chuck" (Vicky) Ciccarella of Erie, PA; Michael (Maria) Marano of Tonawanda, NY; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. The Rev. George S. Zervos, pastor will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Trisaigon Prayer Service will be led at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
