Obituary of Ordella Mae Noni

Ordella "Dell" Mae Noni, 93, of 212 Hallock St., Jamestown, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 in WCA Hospital. She was born May 17, 1921 in Cambria, PA, the daughter of the late Miles Austin Shreffler and Lottie Mae Pifer Noni. Ordella was the loving wife of the late Gust John Noni, Sr. whom she married June 9, 1943 and who passed away November 27, 1999. She was also predeceased by her son, Gust John Noni, Jr. who passed away August 27, 2008. Dell spent her working years first as the head chef of the Hotel Fredonia, which she owned with her late husband Gust until it was destroyed by fire. She continued her head chef career at several establishments, including The White Inn in Fredonia, NY, Fireside Manor at Van Buren Bay, NY, Elbow Room in Jamestown, NY and Coast to Coast in Middlesex, PA. Dell was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Jamestown and a past member of the church's Ladies Erene Society. She was also a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Surviving are a son, Douglas M. Noni, Sr. of Jamestown and daughter-in-law, Bonny L. Noni of Dunkirk; five grandchildren: Jason (Katherine) Noni of Nottingham, NH, Douglas (Lisa Noni, Jr. of Horseheads, NY, Tige Noni of Hilton, NY, Brande Noni of Dunkirk, NY and Christian Noni of California; and four great-grandchildren: Zachary, Parker, Olivia and Jennifer. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. The Rev. George S. Zervos will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
