I got to know West in 1994. We were both in the Army Natl.Guard (different units)and needed a special military course to be promoted. Due to the lack of hair for both of us, the instructor called us curly. A question was asked and both of us stood up.
West looked at me and told me to sit down. He was better looking. The class immediately took a coffee break with laughter. West and I have been friends ever since. May God Bless his family and May God Bless West.
May you rest in peace fellow soldier and comrade.

Mr J was funny, a great dad and respected by all of us. He had that quiet quality where he could say a lot without saying anything at all. He was an influence on me and my brother Matt growing up. We will miss you mr J. Love to you, Kelly and the entire family, chris Hagstrom

My first memory of Mr. Johnson (I think from watching my brother play against Kelly's team in little league) is that he scared the heck out of me! Little did I know at the time what a great guy he was, but I quickly learned. I remember him as quiet but very funny, and he and his wife raised some fantastic children that I am very proud to call friends.
The Johnsons are in thoughts and prayers of the whole Nolan family, and I hope you all know that we're here for you if you ever need anything.

I wish I could make it tonight but you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Wes was a great man and I enjoyed spending time talking with him. He was there for my family during some hard times and I always appreciated that. I will miss him very much. Again I wish I was there tonight. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Wes, I'll miss your jokes, listening to how you, my dad, and "the boys" used to do things in the guard back in the day. Your pointers on the fire service, and your always sarcastic advise. God Bless Brother

I will miss Wes's sense of humor. As an instructor I was always glad to see him and other members of the AARP squad show up to training sessions. A great loss to the fire service. My thoughts and prayer go out to his family and brothers / sisters at Fluvanna Fire Dept.
