Obituary of Patricia L. Pitts
Patricia L. "Pat" Pitts, 68, of Hyde Park, Panama formerly of Ashville, transitioned into heaven at 6:15 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015, in her home following a brief illness.
An area resident for most of her life she was born November 4, 1946 in Elmira, NY a daughter of the late Robert and Lucille Tydings Colwell.
Pat was a graduate of Waverly High School, Waverly, NY and also graduated from the Arnot-Ogden Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira, NY.
Before her retirement she was the district manager for Caregivers in Jamestown where she worked for 16 years. In previous years she had worked for Staff Builders and also for W.C.A. Hospital.
She was an active member of the Ashville United Methodist Church for 48 years and served the church in several capacities over the years. She was also active in the Koinonia of Jamestown.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Burton W. Pitts whom she married September 16, 1967, two sons, Christopher A. (Amber) Pitts, Benjamin A. Pitts, three grandchildren, Kyle Pitts, Alimay Morgan Pitts, Kaleb Pitts, her caregiver, Sue Berryhill, a brother Robert Colwell of Millport, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Ashville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Nicholas Perry, pastor will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the church.
