Obituary of Patricia A. Anderson

Patricia A. Anderson, 89, of 8 Geneva St., passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in WCA Hospital. She was born October 6, 1925 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Edwin and Bessie Mae Johnson Annis. Pat had been employed for many years by the former Davis Drug Store until her retirement. She had been a dedicated china painter for over 40 years and belonged to the New York Southern Tier Porcelain Artists, serving as treasurer, as well as the Chautauqua County Porcelain Artists. Pat also enjoyed household sales and was a member of the DAR. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Bennett of South Carolina and a son, Robert (Joyce) Anderson of Jamestown with whom she recently resided. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Natasha (Bill) Woods of Colorado, Shawn Anderson and Scott Anderson, both of Florida, and Stephen (Kirsten) Bennett of North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren: Tearza Eason, Ashley Kelsey and Kyle Woods and a new great-grandson expected very soon. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Cass "Slug" Anderson whom she married September 23, 1945 and who died January 21, 2000; a grandson, Timothy Bennett; and a brother, Roger Annis and sister, Ida White. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan W. Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 2 and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, and for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road or to the James Prendergast Library Assoc., 509 Cherry St., both Jamestown, NY 141701.
