Obituary of Everett Seekings

Everett "Joe" Seekings, 73, of 9379 Hazen Rd, Sherman, NY passed away at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility following a courageous fight with a lengthy illness. Joe was born October 9, 1941 in Youngsville, PA a son of the late Arthur and Ellen Seekings Wright. Following the death of his parents at a young age, Joe was raised by his Aunt and Uncle Ralph and Meda Seekings. Before his retirement he was employed as a truck driver for the Weinstein Company for 37 years. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who loved to collect eagles. Surviving are his wife the former Donna Dean whom he married November 5, 1985, his children; Monty (Darlene) Seekings of French Creek, NY, Tina (Ben) Burgess of Sherman, NY, Mary Louise (Wave) Seekings of French Creek, NY, Andrew (Robin) Seekings of Jamestown, NY, Helen (Jim) Comber of Sherman, NY, Dannette (Bud) Kimmy of Greenfield, PA, 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, a brother, Artie Wright and a sister, Gretty Wright. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Seekings, several great grandchildren, his Uncle Ralph Seekings and several sisters and brothers. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Brett R. Scarem, pastor of the New Beginnings Fellowship, Sherman, NY will officiate. Burial will be in the Mina Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
