Obituary of David A. Holmberg

David A. Holmberg, 68, of West Third Street, Lakewood, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday July 21, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 10, 1946 in Warren, PA the son of the late LeRoy S. and Ruth Anderson Holmberg. David graduated from Warren High School and attended Edinboro College. He was a US Army veteran, serving with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. Prior to retirement, he worked at Quality Markets for 47 years. David was a long time member of Zion Covenant Church; he loved baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians; and he played softball for 50 years. Surviving are his wife, Pamela J. Holmberg whom he married September 30, 1989; two sons, Paul Holmberg and Erik Holmberg both of Meadville, PA; a step son, Jason (Dena) Darling of Richmond Hill, GA; two step daughters, Susan (Keith) Yocum of Celoron, NY; Lisa (Ben) Langford of Jamestown, NY; eight grandchildren, Logan, Emily, Gavin, Hayden, Gage, Melody, Jameson, and Beckham; three brothers, Gary (Elaine) Holmberg of Annandale, VA; Paul (Chris) Holmberg of Richmond, VA; and Don (Nancy) Holmberg of Youngsville, PA. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Zion Covenant Church. The Rev. Rick Miller, pastor will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
