Obituary of Mary Bellardo
Mary Bellardo, 97, formerly of 98 Sanford Drive and 61 Parkdale Drive, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Marilyn Buffone, with whom she had resided at 168 Benedict Ave. in Jamestown.
She was the widow of Nicholas P. Bellardo whom she married June 10, 1939 and who died February 15, 2000.
Mary was born January 17, 1918 in Sidney, Pa., one of eight children of the late Antonio and Maria Catanese Corio, and was a 1937 graduate of Jamestown High School.
In earlier years, she had been employed by Watson Manufacturing and later for many years by Chautauqua Hardware.
Mary was a member of Camp Street United Methodist Church for more than 50 years where she had enjoyed singing in the choir.
Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Klein and Marilyn (Joseph) Buffone and a son, Nicholas P. (Beth) Bellardo, Jr., all of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren: Patricia Ann Shelley, Dominic (Amy) Bellardo, Lynore (Evan) Clark, Jason (Lisa) Bellardo, Kelly Johnson, Douglas (Heather) Buffone, Christopher Buffone, Katie Buffone, Nicole Bellardo, Hillarey (Cory) Young, Justin (Lisa) Bellardo, Natalie Bellardo, Olivia (Zach) Woleen and Emeley Gould.
Also surviving are 23 great-grandchildren: Noah Shelley, Jessica and Krista Bellardo, Taylor and Ashley Clark, Jonathon and Jaden Bellardo, Adam and Kyle Buffone, Nicole (Tomasz) Bielenin, Zachary Brunacini, Alexis, Lindsey and Austin Buffone, Victoria Carlson, Madeline Anderson, Dylan Bellardo, Logan Bellardo, Bailey Lundmark, Stella Jaquay, Owen and Tessa Young, and Mallory Bellardo; a great- great-grandson, Jaxon Carlson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dominic Bellardo on January 18, 2000; three sons-in-law, Robert Klein who died September 4, 2014, Wallace Findley and Randy Michalski; five sisters: Anna Rizzo, Jennie Maio, Minnie Tollivoro, Sarah Tollivoro and AnnaMary Corio; and two brothers, Jack and Dominic Corio.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
