Obituary of Santo F. Rizzo
Santo F. "Sandy" Rizzo, 78, of 58 Allendale Ave. Jamestown, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, in the Filddler's Green Manor Retirement Home, Springville, NY, following a progressive illness.
A lifelong area resident was born June 1, 1937 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Santo J. and Frances Privitera Rizzo.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1960 to 1962 when he was honorably discharged as a Corporal.
Before his retirement he owned and operated New York Motors on Washington St. for many years. In earlier years he worked with his father at the former Lakehouse Restaurant in Jamestown.
Sandy will be remembered as an avid car buff, cars were his life. He was a member of the "Good Guy's" Car Club and one of the original members of the Road Angels Hot Rod Car Club. He spent much of his time participating in many cars shows around the area.
Surviving are his wife the former Kimberly A. McNeill whom he married August 9, 1992, his five children, Santo R. Rizzo, Amber (Barry) Gustafson, Rachel Rizzo, Nicole Vaughn all of Jamestown, Regina Fidler of FL, seven grandchildren, Zaira Gustafson, Trenton Vaughn, Jacob Rizzo, Kameron Rizzo-Walker, Karee Rizzo-Walker, Tyler Rizzo, Nicole Sprague and a brother Anthony (Linda) Rizzo of Jamestown,
Besides his father who died in 1990, his mother who died in 1995, he was preceded in death by a brother David Rizzo.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrrell G. Duffy, pastor of St. James Catholic Church will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
