Obituary of Carmen Ruiz

Carmen Ruiz, 68, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the wife of Eustaquio "Frank" Ruiz whom she married in June of 1972. Carmen was born January 4, 1947 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Pastor and Sylvia Melendez Gonzalez. She had been employed locally by the former Jamestown Veneer & Plywood. In addition to her husband of Jamestown, surviving are two brothers: Gabriel Gonzalez of New Jersey and Pedro Melendez of Jamestown; a sister, Milagro Pagan of Florida; and many nieces and nephews, including Ashley Morales of Florida who was raised by Carmen and Frank. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Alfonso Pagan will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
