Obituary of Jennie Jessey

Jennie Jessey, 94, formerly of 24 Lakin Ave., passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born July 18, 1921 in Cherry Valley, Pa. a daughter of the late Charles and Marie Angela Gudaduria DiVincenzo. An area resident all her life, she graduated from Jamestown High School in 1939. She worked at Betty Dixon for many years retiring in 1983 and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She loved her family deeply, especially her children and grandchildren and enjoyed baking and knitting. Jennie is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Zahn of Jamestown and a son, Joseph (Mary) W. Jessey III of Meadville, Pa; 4 grandchildren, Julie (Patrick) Rogerson of Fredonia, Aaron (Carrie) Jessey of Jamestown, Ashley (Adam) Benhart of Baltimore, MD, Matthew Jessey of Pittsburgh, Pa; and 4 great grandchildren, Finley Rogerson, Austin Jessey, Hayden and Sawyer Benhart. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Jessey, Jr., whom she married July 10, 1948 and who died April 13, 1998; 2 sisters, Lucy DiVincenzo and Maryann Parinella; and 2 brothers, Anthony DiVincenzo and Michael DiVincenzo. A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev.Todd Remick, pastor of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bemus Point will officiate. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepluchre Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hr prior to the service in the funeral home.
