Obituary of Bernadette McDonald

Bernadette McDonald, formerly of 16 Westwood Drive in Jamestown, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 in the Lutheran Retirement Home at the age of 104. She was born January 19, 1911 in Jenks Township, Pa., a daughter of the late Jerome and Anna Zagst McDonald. A graduate of Warren High School, she received her Bachelor's Degree from Villa Maria College in Erie and her Master's Degree from Georgetown University. Bernadette was a registered nurse and had been employed by the former Jamestown General Hospital in Jamestown, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter & Paul Church. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Mary Bolton of Ivins, Utah, as well as Mary Ellen Trapp, Richard MacDonald and Thomas MacDonald. She was preceded in death by a sister, A. Margaret McDonald and three brothers, Theodore F. McDonald, J. Alfred McDonald and Dr. Leo A. McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24th at Ss Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 W.
